Since 2002 I have been Technical Director of Conidia Bioscience, a spin off company of CAB International. I have worked extensively in the field of applied and environmental mycology both in developed and developing countries.
My background is in the microbial ecology of natural and man made systems, including biodegradation studies on lignocellulosic materials and research into biodeterioration of materials. My previous posts have included Officer in Charge of the UK Ministry of Defence Biodeterioration Laboratory and Lecturer in Microbiology at the Birmingham College of Food and Technology.
I am a visiting lecturer/professor at UK and Brazilian Universities and I have previously represented the UK on a number of international standards committees. I was the President of the Biodeterioration Society from 1991-1994 and President of the International Biodeterioration Association from 1994-1997.
